Provides food staples to the communities of Descanso and Guatay. Normal schedule is Thursdays at 10:00 am: 1st and 3rd Thursdays at the Descanso Town Hall, and 2nd and 4th Thursdays downtown Guatay.

Mountain Health District Senior Luncheon

The Mountain Health District provides low cost lunches to seniors in the area.
Feel free to join area seniors for a warm homestyle meal every Wednesday at 12:00 noon. Meals cost $3 for seniors 65 and over. Reservations are required. Call 619-478-5109 for more information.

AA

Alcoholics Anonymous groups meet every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings at the church.

• Wednesday: Descanso Step Study – 6:30 – 7: 30 pm
• Friday: AA – 7:00 pm (This is an open meeting)

Salvation Army

The Salvation Army provides a great many resources to the people of the Mountain Empire.

Descanso Fire Safe

The Descanso Fire Safe organization seeks to educate and inform our community of the importance in being ready for future events akin to fire, earthquake, flood, or terrorism, both in advance and during such potentially life-changing situations.

Other Community Groups

Descanso Town Hall Association, Descanso Community Planning Board, Friends of Descanso Library, etc.- Members of our church are vital parts of these and other groups who oversee and care about our community and its future.
